Professor Deborah Blevissis the current Acting Director of the SAIS Energy, Resources and EnvironmentProgram and has served as a professorial lecturer at SAIS since 1993. She hasworked in the energy and environmental field for more than 30 years. From 2002through 2009, she worked as an independent consultant in energy efficiency,renewable energy and sustainable urban transportation. She was also a partnerfrom 2003 to 2007 in the BBG Group, a small consulting firm focusing onsustainable transportation. Previously, Professor Bleviss worked as programdirector of the Inter-American Development Bank’s Sustainable Markets forSustainable Energy program. Prior to her work at the Development Bank, sheworked at the U.S. Department of Energy as an advisor to the AssistantSecretary of Energy for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Her educationalbackground includes graduate studies at Princeton University and she holds aB.S. in Physics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
