Time: Jan 6, 2025

On January 6, 2025, Dr. Mya Fisher, the director of the Richard U. Light Fellowship at Yale University, and her colleague, Senior Lector Dr. Fan Liu, visited the Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC). They were hosted by HNC Co-Directors Prof. Li Xiaorong and Adam K. Webb, along with HNC Deputy Director for Academic Affairs Prof. Sun Wen and HNC Deputy American Co-Director Mr. John Urban.

Co-Director Webb welcomed them and provided an introduction to HNC’s history and current activities. Dr. Fisher shared her background in international education and cross-cultural training. The discussion covered various topics, including the target language proficiency of HNC international students, the Richard U. Light Fellowship, its application rules, and its funding mechanisms.

During their visit, Fisher and Liu toured the campus, observed several HNC courses, and met with Charlotte Murphy, a current recipient of the Light Fellowship now studying in HNC.
