Professor Chen comes to the Hopkins-Nanjing Center from Southeast University School of Humanities, where he is a Professor. He is the director of the Institute of Urban Governance and Policy Analysis at the Nanjing Think Tank Alliance. He earned a PhD in Chinese Modern History in 2006. He was Postdoctoral fellow in Public Management from 2007 to 2010, Fudan University. His main research interests include urban governance, Chinese government and politics, and contemporary Chinese history research. He has published more than 100 academic papers, published four academic books, and hosted multiple social science funds at the national, provincial, and ministerial levels.
