Hu Xiaohong comes to the Hopkins-Nanjing Center from Nanjing University School of Law, where she is a professor and doctoral supervisor. She received a bachelor’s degree in law from Northwest University of Political Science in 1984. And she later obtained a master's degree and a doctor’s degree in law from Lanzhou University. She had been teaching in the school of law in Lanzhou University from 1984 to 2005 and served as a teaching assistant, lecturer, associate professor, and professor. She used to be a senior visiting scholar at the International Economic Law Institute affiliated to School of Law in Georgetown University. She has been a professor at Nanjing University since November 2005 and been a doctoral supervisor since 2008.

Professor Hu’s interests cover international economic law, international environmental law, and foreign-related economic law. She has presided 7 national level and provincial level academic projects, published 9 monographs, edited 2 textbooks as the first chief editor, and published over 60 periodicals academic papers.
