Zhang Renshan

Zhang Renshan, a native of Dongtai, Jiangsu Jiangsu Province, is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University Law School. Adjunct Professor at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, Nanjing University. His research interests include Chinese legal history, legal and social history, judicial tradition and judicial modernization, and comparative legal culture. He used to be the editor-in-chief of Nanjing University Law Review. He is currently the executive chairman of the Chinese Legal History Society and the president of the Legal History Research Association of the Jiangsu Law Society. He has visited the United States, Germany and the Academia Sinica in Taiwan for many times. He has presided over a number of provincial, ministerial and national research fund projects. His representative works include: "Chinese Legal Civilization", "Etiquette, Law and Society: Legal Transformation and Social Change in the Qing Dynasty", "The Perspective of Legal and Social History", "Sovereignty, Legal Power and Society in Modern China", "Multidimensional Observation of Modern Chinese Law", "Judicial Corruption and Social Runaway: 1928~1949", "History of Nanjing University Law School 1927-2021", and "1949 Chinese Society".
