Zhao Juan

Professor Juan Zhao is a professor of law at Nanjing University Law School (since 2005) and an adjunct professor at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center (since 2010). She received her Ph.D. in Law from Nanjing University in 2006 and was a visiting scholar of University of Illinois at Urban – Champaign (2008-2009). Her areas of specialty are constitutional law and administrative law, and she focuses on research in the following areas: constitutional principles, freedom of speech systems, and comparative public law theory. She has published works such as The Written Nature and Judicial Application of the Chinese Constitution (2015), Norms, Order and Public Law (2020), President Twitter: Trump and the First Amendment (2023), and published several academic papers in journals such as “China Legal Science”, “Law Review”, “Jiangsu Social Sciences”. She mainly teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as Constitutional Law, Legislative Law, Constitutional Theory Topics, and Chinese Constitution.
