Mr. Sun is a lecturer and master's supervisor at the School of Finance, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics (NUFE). He received his Ph.D. in applied economics from Nanjing University in 2014 and worked at the People's Bank of China, also known as China’s central bank. He has been teaching at NUFE since 2018, and a part-time professor at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center since 2022.

His main research interests cover monetary theory and policy, and new open economy macroeconomics. As a representative of Chinese Ph.D. students, he attended the 5th Nobel Laureate Conference on Economics in Lindau, Germany, and visited German universities and research institutions. He has published several academic papers in Chinese and English journals.
