Liu Houjun is a professor and instructor of PhD degree in the Economics School of Nanjing University. He graduated from the Philosophy Department of Nanjing University in 1977. As a Visiting Scholar, he studied Economics in the State University of New York at Albany, U.S.A. (SUNY Albany) in 1980-1982. He was the Deputy Dean of the Business School and the Economics School of Nanjing University. He was the counselor of Jiangsu provincial government. Professor Liu has been teaching at the HNC since the establishment of the HNC in 1986.

Professor Liu’s research fields cover Economics and International Economy. He has been to more than 10 countries and areas for academic research and exchanges such as USA, UK, France, Russia, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. He has been employed to be one of the invited economists in “China’s 100 Economists Confidence Investigation” by the State Statistics Bureau of China since 2005. Professor Liu has published 4 books as the independent author, 10 other books a co-author or co-editor, and more than 100 academic articles. He won many national-level honorary titles such as “Teaching Master of Institution of High Education of China (2009)”, “Instructor of Outstanding PhD Dissertation of China (2006)”, “Top Grade of Outstanding Teacher of Baosteel Award (2007)”. Professor Liu has enjoyed “The Government Special Subsidy” awarded by the China State Council since 1993.
