
Zhu, Mingying (Ph.D. in Economics) graduated from the Department of Economics at the University of Ottawa in 2019. She is currently an assistant professor in the School of Economics at the Nanjing University. Her major research fields include Environmental Economics, Health economics, Behavioral Economics, and Applied Econometrics.
She mainly studies the impact of environment (pollution and climate) on urban economy and ecology, human behaviors and health, with a focus on the environmental issues in developing countries such as China, India and Indonesia. She is also working on environmental technology monitoring and analysis, using machine learning methods to build ecological (for animal diversity) and environmental (for air pollution) monitoring models. She has published more than 10 SSCI/SCI papers at this stage, and is also currently hosting a National Science Foundation Youth Project (2021-2023).
